King County Search And Rescue Association (KCSARA) and the King County Sheriff's Office are proud to be hosting the 2006 Washington State Search and Rescue Conference at the King County Fairgrounds in Enumclaw Washinghton on May 19th through the 21st, 2006. Please plan on joining us to learn the latest in search and rescue technology.
The King County Fairgrounds in Enumclaw hosts several other Northwest favorites, including the Scottish Highland Games, the Olympic Kennel Club Dog Show and the Les Schwab Classic Car Show. The facilities range from the entire 72-acre grounds to the intimate setting of the historic log cabin Field House. Several buildings at the Fairgrounds were originally constructed for the 1962 Seattle World's Fair. These buildings were moved to the Fairgrounds after the World's Fair was completed. The City of Enumclaw encompasses an area of 3.5 square miles. Its beautiful homes with their well-kept yards contribute to the community being one of the most attractive in King County. Enumclaw is within one hour of any activity imaginable, skiing, hiking, beaches, large city culture, and professional sports. There are numerous local facilities for golf, tennis and youth sports. The King County Sheriff's Office is responsible for search and rescue activities in the unincorporated areas of King County as well as their contract cities. Each year, volunteer groups along with Sheriff's Office Search & Rescue personnel respond to numerous incidents involving lost or injured hikers, hunters and children, and downed missing aircrafts. SAR volunteers also assist in times of natural disasters like flooding, windstorms and earthquakes. [ Visit King County ]
