Rope Rescue I, presented by Rescue Northwest added to the pre-conference line up

Wednesday, March 01, 2006 -- Rescue Northwest will be presenting a Rope Rescue I course in the week leading up to the conference. This course meets requirements for awareness and operations levels, and will provide the student with the ability to approach rope rescue situations safely and conduct rope rescue operations in low-angle situations, as well as practice safe rescuer skills in high-angle situations. White Rose Inn stops accepting guests

Wednesday, February 22, 2006 -- We've just been informed the White Rose in is no longer accepting guests as of January 1, 2006. We have removed this establishment from our list of local hotels and lodging. We hope this does not effect the plans of anyone associated with the conference.

Entry forms posted for BEST of What's New awards

Wednesday, February 15, 2006 -- The Best of What's New awards has just posted entry forms on our website. If you believe your new product, invention, research, or photo is the best of what's new for 2006, go there right now, download the proper form, and mail it in today. Let the games begin!

Availability of RV Hook-ups clarified

Sunday, February 05, 2006 -- There are three choices available for onsite camping. For $10/night registered using the general conference registration form tents or RVs can camp without hook-ups. For $15/night registered using the general conference registration form RVs can camp with electrical hook-ups only. For $26/night registered separately through the fairgrounds at (206) 296-8888 RVs can camp with a concrete pad with electrical and water hook-up. Sorry, sewer is not available. Pre-conference course "Urban Search Operations" canceled

Sunday, February 05, 2006 -- The previously scheduled pre-conference course titled "Urban Search Operations" has been cancelled. Those interested in this course are invited to investigate the existing pre-conference course titled "SAR Incident Management (Combined Wilderness/Urban)".

Tuesday, January 31, 2006 -- We've added a link to an excellent list of offsite restaurants and eateries maintained by Seattle PI to the meals and menu area of our website.

Tuesday, January 31, 2006 -- We've added a new page to our website full of information on where to stay and camp during the conference. In addition, our list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) contains a plethora of common questions and answers on this and other topic.

Friday, January 27, 2006 -- We've worked very hard to provide delicious, high quality, meals for our general conference attendees, and we believe our professional caterer has outdone themselves. We've just added to our website at http://www.wasar2006.org/meals/ a list of the menus planned for the general conference.

Thursday, January 26, 2006 -- We've recently added course details and registration information to the pre-conference section of our website. We've also added many entries to our list of frequesntly asked questions, and started to list individule classes in the general conference classes section of our website.

Tuesday, January 24, 2006 -- Several more pre-conference courses have been posted on the website, and more are in the works. A pre-conference registration form will be posted as soon as we can get it done. We've also started a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page. Please check this out frequently as we'll be posting more and more FAQs as we pull together answers.

First pre-conference courses and general conference classes posted to website

Thursday, January 19, 2006 -- Four months to go and things are finally starting to be added to the website. We've just posted an initial list of topics and planned tracks in our section on general conference classes. We've also posted the first two scheduled pre-conference course titles in our pre-conference section. This is just a start and we expect to be adding much more in a very short time.
