Is your new product, invention, research, or photo the best of what's new for 2006?
The 2006 Washington State Search and Rescue Conference and King County Search and Rescue Association, invites manufacturers, designers, researchers, and photographers to submit their best 2006 product, invention, research, or photo for the 1st Annual Best of What's New awards.
All qualifying entries will be on display adjacent to the vendor showcase in the Exhibition Hall of the King County Fairgrounds, during the 2006 Washington State Search and Rescue Conference, on May 19 - 21, 2006.
Qualifying entries will be judged in the for categories of "commercial or manufactured product", "non-commercial invention", "academic research", and "photography". Each category will have one winner and one runner up. Judges, at their own discretion, will also be able to award honorable mentions.
Honors will be awarded on the evening of Saturday, May 20, 2006 at the Washington State Search and Rescue Conference in Enumclaw, Washington. Entries do not need to be represented to win, but your presence is strongly encouraged. Judges will be chosen from experienced emergency workers, with no conflicts of interest, registered for the conference by April 1, 2006.
To submit an entry to the Best of What's New, begin by downloading the appropriate entry form. Mail the completed form to the address listed on the form. You'll receive emailed confirmation once your completed registration form are received.

As of February 15th, 2006, we only have the entry forms for the photo, product, and research contests completed. Additional entry forms will be posted here shortly. Please email us at bestof@wasar2006.org with any questions.
Companies of all sizes - U.S.-based or international - are invited to enter if their commercial product or underlying technology went on sale, or was announced for sale, between May 1, 2005, and April 30, 2006. Industrial and institutional technologies are also eligible for awards.
Government agencies, universities, private groups, and individuals are invited to enter if their research, or working prototype, was completed between May 1, 2005, and April 30, 2006.
Individuals are invited to enter if their photograph was taken between May 1, 2005, and April 30, 2006.
Entry deadline is April 30, 2006
